NBA GM's
Every player that is bid on in free agency has to be paid the league minimum based on the number of years that player has been in the league (See Free Agency Rules). I just noticed on my bid for Hornets PF Jason Smith that I had offered a 2 year contract at the league minimum of .95 million. The mistake I made there was offering him a multi-year contract and using his 4 years of experience as the bases for his entire contract. Because next year Jason Smith would be in the league 5 years, on the second year of that contract I still have to honor the league minimum for his experience. So while I had initially offered 2 years @ .95, in reality on that second year I have to pay him 1.0 mil because that will be the league minimum for him next year. Just something I want GM's to keep in mind.
