Roster Limits
Active rosters are limited to 18 players maximum and 12 players minimum (excluding Injury Reserve).
All teams must be back within the roster limits by the night before Week 1 begins. Reminders will be sent via PM to every owner the night before the deadline.
It is the owner's responsibility to stay under the limit at all times. Any transaction they make that violates the roster limit will be immediately reversed.
Any team over the roster limit or under the roster min. will be hit with a $5M cap hit for the season.
Salary Cap
In the NBAGM, the salary cap for each team is set at $100M. This cap may increase or decrease due to financial change in the NBA. The NBAGM enforces a cap floor of at least $50M each year as every team is expected to be competitive.
Any owner that is found to be deliberately losing for a top five pick will immediately lose their 1st round draft pick for that season.
Each owner is expected to remain under the salary cap AT ALL TIMES!. There are no exceptions and fines will be handed out for any violations.
Appeal Process
Whenever you have a player with a recurring injury such as a concussion, career ending injury, or behavioral problems that results in suspensions, you may place an appeal to the commissioner's office stating your case. If you win your appeal you may be able to cut your player at a lowered cap hit. We will base our decision on your appeal itself so MAKE A GOOD CASE FOR YOURSELF.
Pre-Season Rosters
Each owner MUST select 8 players from their real life counterparts including their real-life salaries to start the league. You may choose to begin with a maximum of 12 players.
Once you have picked your 8-12 players and FINALIZED their contract status, you will submit the roster for approval in the designated thread.
We will be using spotrac.com for ALL salary purposes. ROUND ALL SALARIES TO TWO DECIMAL PLACE. So instead of $4.7M put $4.68M NOTE: PLEASE USE THE BASE SALARY FOR YOUR CONTRACTS.
Injured Reserve and Temp Contracts
If a player is placed on Injured Reserve in the NBA, you may sign another player on a 10 day contract basis. If ESPN has declared a player to be allowable on the IR list but it is not a season ending injury a 10 day contract will cost you 8.7% of the league minimum off your salary cap. This will also allow you to bypass the 24 hour free agent non bid rule. A player declared by ESPN to be placed on IR is a first come first serve basis provided you have salary cap space.
If a player is determined to be on IR for the rest of the regular season, you can sign a free agent to a regular full term contract while the injured player resides on you IR roster. The contract amount and restrictions in this case will follow standard contract rules such as abiding by standard league minimums. There will be no prorating contracts in this case regardless of how many games we are into a season. If a player gets hurt 4 months into the season and you replace him, that new free agent will need a year long contract. In this case you can also bypass the 24 hour free agent rule.
