Once a free agent is won, you have a couple of options on how you can structure that contract other than a straight across the board evenly divided contract for the duration. You can front load a contract, or you can back load the contract provided that you do not exceed increments over 2mil per year.
For example: A 4 year 20 million dollar contract can be back loaded with 2 mil the first year, 4 mil the second year, 6 mil the 3rd year and 8 mil the fourth year. Front loaded contracts are similar only in the reverse order by year.
But, you must notify league managers with contract structures within 48 hours of signing a free agent or your player will be assigned the standard evenly divided contract for its duration.
Also, unrestricted free agents are guaranteed money contracts and we will not be placing Qualifying Offers or Restricted status on any of these contracts.
