NBA GM’s
First let me say thank you to all the GM’s that continue to be an active part of this league. NBA General Manager is today as strong of a league as has been since we started earlier this summer. As of now we have a great group of core owners, and we have been able to fill out almost all the dead teams that we had when we started the league just 4 months ago. We currently have only 2 teams left available (Hawks and Clippers) and if you guys know anyone that may want to be part of this league, send them over. The Clippers are a good team with the likes of Paul, Griffen and Kobe. While the Hawks will have a ton of free agent cap space in the off season to be a real pain in the ass to all the other GM’s. Both teams have tremendous upside, and I will try and get new owners as soon as possible.
As some of you may have noticed, we recently have made a few rule changes. The first was changing the cap hit rule on releasing players, and the second was on the 40 game max rule which will take effect starting next season. When I first came up with the concept of this league, I was simply drawing salary formats from other leagues I had participated in. I took a little bit from this league, and a little bit from that league, and I always knew that this first season would be a sort of experimental type year. When considering rule changes, I always enjoy getting the input of other league members. We’re all in this league together and we should all strive to make this league the best that we possibly can. So there will be more discussions on rule changes at the Proboards site, many of which will be have to discussed sooner rather than later, and I encourage all GM’s to participate.
Finally, we are going to make some changes on how the Trade Review Panel operates and the first act will be to bring on two more GM’s. I am asking for volunteers, and preferably volunteers that check in on the site frequently. Your position will not become official until next season, but I will take application starting immediately. I’ll address the changes to the TRP real soon, it’s not going to be a dramatic change, just one that makes the league more trade friendly while still trying to protect the integrity of the league.
If anyone has questions, please feel free to drop me an e-mail.
